RECREATIONAL RESPITE

The Recreational Respite Program is for individuals ages 4 – 21 years with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder to improve muscle strength and muscle tone, communication, and socialization skills at fun community centers.

The Recreational Respite Program is funded, in part, by Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico’s Healthy Kids, Healthy Families, signature grant program.

The Recreational Respite Program is a unique program, unlike any other in the state of New Mexico, as it is designed for individuals ages 4 – 21 years old with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, to participate in group recreational activities. Each session focuses on improving muscle strength and muscle tone, emotional, and social skills by engaging in fun and safe group activities held at community locations, such as bowling, horseback riding, trampoline parks, swimming, and many others. Each class runs for 6-8 weeks for 3 hours and are held throughout the year.

You are eligible for Recreational Respite Program if you are:
